The Difference Between Microblading and Nano Needling
Microblading or eyebrow embroidery involves using a small, sharp instrument of 10-16 fine needles configured into a blade shape to deposit pigment into the skin. Once the cuts have been made, pigment is liberally smeared over the treated area and left to dry for several minutes. At this point, anaesthetic is usually applied which is easily absorbed into the broken skin and makes the rest of the treatment painless for most.
Once the treatment is completed, the implanted strokes do indeed appear extremely fine and realistic, they do however have a shorter period of staying in the skin compared to nano needling and microbladed brows will need more regular touch-ups, around every 9 months.
Micropigmentation or Cosmetic Tattooing with a Nano Needle
Nano needling or micropigmentation, uses a conventional needle device. The needle is called a “nano needle” because they are the size of a hair and flexible. Bella Ink uses a state-of-the-art digital IQ machine by Nouveau Contour. Since the needle sits approximately 0.75mm outside the cartridge it is easier to apply the precise pressure to create the perfect crisp hair strokes. Therefore, it tends to be a much cleaner process, causing less trauma to the skin . The very tip of the needle is dipped into the pigment and the vibration pulls the pigment down into the cartridge. It is then dispensed gradually from the needle into the skin, allowing for a controlled movement.
They are both hair stroke techniques, but with nano needling we have a lot more precision because it’s a ‘one point’ starting point. You can also shade in between the hair strokes to give a more soft appearance. With Nano, we can be a lot more creative and go beyond simple hair strokes to obtain natural healed results.
